Supporting Dementia Harborough: A Heartfelt Commitment from U&I Care
At U&I Care, we believe care should extend beyond the home. As part of our holistic approach to live-in and domiciliary care, we are proud to announce our support for Dementia Harborough – a volunteer-led local charity dedicated to improving the lives of people living with dementia and their families.
This partnership reflects a promise we made when U&I Care first began: to support a community cause that closely aligns with the experiences of our clients. Now in our second year of operation, we are in a position to begin fulfilling that promise in a meaningful and ongoing way.
Why Dementia Harborough?
Dementia Harborough is a long-standing, trusted charity that has supported people affected by dementia in Market Harborough and surrounding areas for over 14 years. Their services include monthly support groups, a regular newsletter, and community trips to places such as the Curve Theatre and Rutland Water – all organised and delivered by dedicated volunteers.
For us at U&I Care, their mission and values deeply resonate. Dementia is something we encounter frequently in the work we do, and many of our clients and their families are directly impacted. As such, Dementia Harborough is a natural partner for us, one that reflects our values of respect, compassion, and whole-person care.
A Holistic Approach to Giving
Our care model combines physical support with attention to emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing, inspired by the Ayurvedic philosophy of wellness that underpins everything we do. We believe that good care extends into the community, and partnerships with local organisations help us ensure that our impact reaches beyond the walls of the home.
This new relationship with Dementia Harborough strengthens that commitment. It allows us to be part of a wider network of support — one that helps build a more connected, informed, and compassionate local community.
Giving Back to the Community We Serve
As a locally rooted provider, our directors Jasbir Singh and Sarju Raikundalia have both volunteered with organisations supporting the elderly and those living with dementia. This new step allows us to formalise that spirit of giving and weave it into our core operations.
As part of our support, we will also be proudly displaying the Dementia Harborough logo on our website, with a message such as “Our Charity of Choice”. This is not about recognition – it’s about transparency. We want our clients, families, and potential customers to see that when we say we take a holistic approach, we truly mean it – and that includes giving back.
Looking Ahead: A Shared Vision
Supporting Dementia Harborough is just the beginning. We look forward to finding further ways to collaborate, whether through joint awareness campaigns, volunteering, or community events.
Most importantly, we hope this partnership shows that small acts of support, sustained over time, can make a big difference. We encourage others in the care sector to consider how they too can support the incredible local organisations that work so hard to uplift vulnerable members of our communities.
